Dog Training for New Parents
Infants and Dogs: Dog Training for New Parents
At Raise the Bar Dog Training we are here to help owners ensure their dog and baby can live together in a safe and cohesive way. If you are a pet parent who is ready to expand your human family, there are a lot of things to think about when it comes to how your dog may react to having a new baby home. Dogs CAN be great with children, but how will YOUR dog react to a baby coming into the home, the new baby sounds, changing everything in the environment from scheduling to how much attention the dog receives from the owner?
Our Cribs and Canines program is here to make sure your dog will come together in bliss and excitement when you have a new baby in the house. When a baby is born it can cause potential anxiety and poor behavior from your dog. Our professional dog trainer will teach your dog how to avoid these pitfalls with this proven training program that helps introduce your dog when the baby comes home. This program is not only for your dog and the baby, this is also for YOU as the expectant parent, so that you may learn how to create a new consistent structure that your dog can succeed in, both before and after the little babe comes home!
Our cribs and canines program is for pet parents of newborn babies, infants and toddler children. Reward your dog with a training program that gets the results!
Help Your Dog Get Ready Before Baby Arrives
We truly “raise the bar” when it comes to training your dog and reaching the goals your family sets. Not only will our trainers solidify your dog’s obedience skills with the baby, we will fully prepare your dog with the idea of a new pack member in the family.
Teaching calm, relaxed behavior, we utilize reward-based training methods so that your dog not only ceases any problematic behavior, but is also calm and anxiety-free! With the Cribs and Canines program, your dog will learn some helpful, baby-specific behaviors, such as walking nicely with a stroller, demonstrating patience when the baby is getting most/all of the attention, being gentle when the baby starts to crawl, etc.
We’ll make sure you allow your dog time away from the baby and the chaos that can bring. We use tools like baby gates and crates to allow the dog the boundaries they need.
We NEVER recommend leaving your dog alone with ANY baby or child unsupervised. Please advocate for both babies and dogs and keep the environment controlled at all times. Safety is the top priority here at Raise the Bar.
